SVFC U17’s vs Old Wilsonians

I'll keep this one short. After the Christmas break everyone was excited to get back underway and this was proved in our great first half performance. After going 1-0 down we showed great character to bring it back to 3-1 with goals from Junior, Jamie and Henry. Unfortunately that's all the character we could come up with. It was 3-2 at half time after an OW penalty. We were in the drivers seat and just had to keep our composure. We lost Samir at half time meaning we only had one sub so when Jamie Mander went off with a suspected broken thumb we had bare 11. Individual errors cost us today as we conceded 2 goals, where both times we had perfectly clear opportunities to clear our lines. As we pushed for the equaliser OW scored a 5th and the game ended 5-3. First half we played very well and deserved a bigger lead however they came out, wanted it more and were gifted chance after chance.

Thanks to the parents that came down and supported, a special mention also to Chillu who never stopped running and was great in the midfield when Jamie went off.Tough to take but we go again next week against Orpington. In this league we play everyone times, we won the first, lost the second, it's now up to us how we end the third.

Lionesses bring it home...

Well done to the Ladies of the England Squad. Inspiring grassroots footballers across the country. Hopefully, it will bring a spotlight onto what can be done!
