SVFC U17’s vs Beckenham Town

After playing the same team 2 weeks ago and winning 5-2, confidence was high going into this game. The pitch was in great condition considering the weather during the week however the wind had a massive influence on the game. We were against the wind in the first half which played into Beckenhams long ball approach, we managed to score an early goal by Jamie Mander, Henry played a great ball through and he finished emphatically. We played some fantastic football in the first half, keeping the ball nicely from our defence and into the midfield. Junior and Jamie linking up well on the left was great to see and Jamie was a constant threat time after time. A great header from a Beckenham town free kick brought the game level and Beckenham then went onto score a second after a defensive mistake. Despite the score line neither Vince or I was worried as we knew that in the second half we would create ample chances to win the game.

We were right, less than a minute into the second half and Chillu picks up the ball off Zain and loops it over the keepers head into the far corner, a great finish and a great start to the second half. With the wind now blowing against Beckenham their options in possession were limited as any long ball would blow straight back into their half. We capitalised on this, continued playing our football and made some fantastic chances. Henry again picking out Jamie who took on 2 players and finished it cooly to put us into the lead. With 30 minutes to go we dominated the game, our defence kept out Beckenham brilliantly and I don’t think Vince will even needs to wash Anton’s kit! It was the 81st minute where Henry released Jamie again who, surprise surprise, took on a defended and then got the better of their keeper for the third time, making it 4-2 to Seymour and 13 goals for Jamie this season so far, averaging a goal ever 67 minutes! Not bad for someone who was playing CM for the majority of our games. Everyone played brilliantly today, Chillu and Cormac completely dominated the midfield battle and the game ended with Seymour the deserved winners 4-2.Man of the match today was obviously Jamie Mander, 13 goals this season is a fantastic achievement so far, 2 games as a striker, 2 hat tricks!A big thanks to the parents that supported but also helped with the nets.10 games played, 8 games to go, the title is still in our reach.

Well done to the Ladies of the England Squad. Inspiring grassroots footballers across the country. Hopefully, it will bring a spotlight onto what can be done!

Data me to FA Whole Game System

Hi all, I hope you are all keeping well and sane! It feels like such a long time ago that we were all able to do such simple things as play some football but hopefully we will be back on the pitches
