Blue Arrows 9 - Tooting & Mitcham Terrors 1

MOTM: Neev Sampat

What an amazing cup game to watch. They boys played fantastic football and super proud of everybody’s commitment and team work. Losing 7:3 last week to the same team we were dominant throughout with sublime passes into space and creating some excellent chances. Playing on an U10 pitch helped the opposition as it did feel more difficult for us to hit the target and their goalkeeper did an excellent job. Tooting broke a few time creating their own chances with counters but this was a rare occurrence. But when they got through Neev was just brilliant with 3 amazing saves which made him MOTM. We were so much better throughout and our football was textbook at times. The only goal came through a silly free kick we conceived just outside the box and just found its way through the wall. On the downside, the referee was an absolute disgrace, disallowing a penalty with blutend Handball in their box and two major fouls towards the ends taking clear scoring chances away from the boys. He also kept constantly giving directions to his team which was all wrong. What message is he sending to his players, letting them get away with it and winning a game by being biest. Being the chairman and Manager of the team should be an example. Just shocking.

I’m so proud of the team and their performance and they all deserved MOTM today. Great things to come if we keep on playing like we did today. Great thank you to the parents who have been cheering the team on and been super supportive.

What a great team the blues are.
