Seymour Villa 5 - Petts Wood Perigrins 8

MOTM: Daniel E

GB: Daniel E 2

Aidan 1 / Archer 1 / Martin 1

The boys started well and Den E dictated the pitch form the kick of running his heart out on the left-wing and after 10 minutes scored the first goal with the Blue arrows dictating the game. However, Petts Wood scored got a goal back straight after the kick off with some good passing and a counter attack.

The game then started to get fairly even but we went 2;1 up within 5 minutes by a beautiful team goal. Petts wood got straight back and then started to win more challenges and were just that bit more physical. We dropped our pace and they started counter-attacking and we got caught out a couple of of times. By half time we were 4:2 down. The boys put a lot of effort into the game and were fighting hard but lost their way almost straight from kick-off especially in defense. We just didn't close down the opposition and gave them too much space. The team spirit then left us a bit and we were quickly 6:2 down. We then had a few minutes when we started passing again and scored 2 more goals but Petts would kept the upper had just that bit more and most importantly converted their chances.

On the upside, we did create enough great chances to catch up the oppo but we just didn't manage to fisnish. We created 25 good chances in total

Neev had a good day in goal, even though he conceded 8 goals which were not his fault, he made 13 saves to keep us in the game.

We then picked up again and started pushing hard with ten minutes to go and a beautiful goal from Dan got us back into the game.

We were so close to scoring a few more goals but it just wasn't meant to be.

Archer also had a great game and was fighting hard scoring a great goal as a result.

Aidan was also, as usual, fighting relentlessly for every ball and helped create some great counter attacks.

We had some great tackling from Mark, Zack and Daniel which kept us in the game.

A few frustrating parts in the game but still managed to create a lot of chances, we just have to work a bit harder to close player down quicker and not give too much space.

Well done boys and we will be back next week that bit stronger!!!

Even though a frustrating game at times, it was a competitive and great game to watch. Some beautiful passes from Danielo, Aidan, Arched and Daniel.

Thanks to all the parents who helped and attended the game today. Great support from the sideline.

A tough result to take this morning but one that was needed to give the boys a reality check. This was our first game in a month due to the weather so I was expecting the boys to be slightly rusty, bu
